PRIVACY POLICY

1. Who We Are

Deaf Pickleball League ("DPL") is operated by PickleUnlimited. This policy covers deafpickleballleague.com and its legacy alias deafpickleballleagues.com. Your account is shared across PickleUnlimited products (DPR, DPB, DPL).

To play in DPL, you must first have a DPR (Deaf Pickleball Ratings) account.DPR is the player identity layer for the PickleUnlimited ecosystem — once you're registered on DPR, you can be added to any DPL team. Fans purchasing tickets or following teams do not need a DPR account and can sign up for DPL directly.

2. What We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information:

Account information

Name, email, password (hashed). Shared across PickleUnlimited products (DPR, DPB, DPL). Players must hold a DPR account to be added to a DPL team roster; fans can use DPL without a DPR account.

Team and roster data

Team affiliation, roster assignments, lineup submissions, coach/owner roles.

League play data

Sub-game results (women's singles, men's singles, mixed doubles, dream breaker), team standings, team ratings. Team ratings are computed from league play and are separate from individual DPR ratings.

Ticket and fan data

Ticket purchases, team follow preferences. Card numbers are processed by Stripe — we never see or store them.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Manage team rosters, lineups, and player roles
  • Display team standings, sub-game results, and statistics
  • Display your name and DPR rating on team rosters and player cards. Your DPR rating is read from your DPR profile and shown for context — similar to how Major League Pickleball displays a player's DUPR rating on team rosters. DPL never modifies your DPR rating.
  • Compute and display team ratingsbased on league play. Team ratings are the focal competitive metric in DPL and are completely separate from individual DPR ratings — your DPR rating is unaffected by your team's performance, wins, losses, or final standing in DPL.
  • Process ticket purchases through Stripe
  • Send league notifications (if opted in)

4. What We Share

League play and team ratings stay in DPL

DPL computes team ratings from league play, but team results are never written back to DPR for individual rating calculations and are not exported to DUPR. Your individual DPR rating (and DUPR rating, if you have one) is unaffected by anything that happens during DPL play — wins, losses, and final standings live in DPL only.

Cross-product account

Your PickleUnlimited account (name, email) is shared across DPR, DPB, and DPL so you sign up once and use everywhere. Product-specific data (team rosters, league results, ticket purchases) is scoped to DPL.

Payments

Ticket payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

We do NOT sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to advertisers or data brokers. Ever.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a secured data center with encryption at rest and in transit. Access to administrative systems requires multi-factor authentication. All connections use HTTPS/TLS.

6. Your Rights

  • Access — request a copy of your data
  • Correct — update inaccurate information
  • Export — receive your data in a portable format
  • Close account — deactivate your profile and remove personal details. League results, team rosters, and standings are retained for league integrity (see Section 7).

7. Data Retention

League match results, team rosters, and standings are retained permanently for league integrity — removing one player's game results would distort standings for every team they played against. Personal details (email, phone, address) are removed upon account closure. This is consistent with how other team-league platforms handle player data.

8. Cookies and Tracking

DPL uses essential cookies for authentication only. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party trackers, or analytics cookies.

9. All Ages

DPL is a general-audience league platform open to players of all ages. Only name and age category are displayed publicly — date of birth is never shown. Players under 18 require guardian consent to participate. Players under 13 require parental consent to create an account, consistent with COPPA requirements.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
